The Aboriginal Energy Training Program was developed by the Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women (IAAW) and Solare, with the goal of fostering sustainable energy stewardship in First Nation communities.
The program explores the fundamentals of sustainable energy through three basic tenants:
Understand it – Reduce it – Produce it
With support and guidance from experienced professionals (Auditors, Electricians, Engineers), the trainees will learn of industry best practices, engage in practical case studies, and conduct authentic energy assessments. The experience culminates into a practicum, with certificates awarded to the successful participants.
